Commandant

It is my privilege to be the commandant of Lincolnshire army cadet force, a role I relish and enjoy.  Why? Because I am constantly amazed by the enthusiasm and attitude of the teenagers who are members of the army cadet force, and, indeed, the instructors that lead them.

They have a positive manner.  They are adventurous.  They are determined but they want to enjoy themselves.  They have a sense of purpose but they want excitement.  They are responsive and they are self-reliant.  They have self-discipline and they have self-respect.  And we, the army cadet force, help them to obtain these skills.

Through a carefully structured training syllabus, with fully qualified instructors helping them throughout, today’s army cadet really can achieve goals that they never thought possible!  How many teenagers have trekked through the Himalayas, or camped under the stars in South Africa, or been white-water rafting in Canada? Army cadets have!

I welcome you to the Lincolnshire army cadet force web site. I hope you will take the time to look through it and find something which may encourage you to join.  I look forward to welcoming you as an army cadet, or as an instructor, in the future!

TE Richmond, colonel, cadet commandant
